about
"Look Out, I'm Open Now" was recorded at my apartment on Alki Beach, Seattle, WA.
This song was written after Tom Petty died, and I like to think it sounds like him smiling down from heaven. I recorded myself playing tuned wine glasses in harmony, and gave it many layers of shimmering harmony vocals, including some polyphonic throat singing by Stephen Saletta.
lyrics
Look out, I’m open now,
I’m open now, I’m open now
Look out, the tree fell down
we’ll have to go the long way round
You get a scratch upon your cheek
broken branches trip your feet
and perfumed shadows fall eventually
for us all
vignettes of demon’s claws
or angel’s wings
of thee I sing
And all the contents of our dreams
Will be set free
